JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL PROGRAMME

The junior secondary section of the school Prepares students for the Junior School Certificate which is issued to students

who, at the end the first three years of secondary school education, succeed in the examination conducted yearly by the

State Government of the Federation as well as the National Examination Council (NECO).

The following subjects are taught m preparation for the BECE Examination:

The senior section of the school also prepares students for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination

conducted by the West Africa Examination Council and the National Examination Council which the students take at the

end of the second three years of secondary education in the 9-3-4 system of education. Students should note the

WAEC/NECO regulations guiding the choice and number of subjects for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination as

Iisted below:

Regulations

These notes are for guidance only and are in no way a substitute for Council’s Regulations and Syllabuses for the conduct

of the Senior School Certificate Examination, which should be thoroughly studied to ensure that entries comply with

them. For the award of Senior School Certificate, candidates must enter and sit for a minimum of eight and a maximum

of nine subjects. However all candidates must offer the following core and compulsory subjects with additional one or

two elective subject(s) as the case may be.

Our Students in S.S. 1 should take not less than 10 subjects; and those in S.S. 3 should take 8 or 9 subjects.
